Colds
The common cold, of viral origin, can occur at any age. In the vast majority of cases, the common cold involves the nose and throat, (sometimes the sinuses with inflammation), causing a watery or thick discharge of mucus from the nasal passages, often with blockage of one or other nostril. The nasal discharge may be yellow or green, the skin around the nose and lips raw and sore. A dry cough is also common and often a headache, with aching pains throughout the body. Young children may have four to six colds a year until their immune system builds up strength and resistance.
